Ladies & Gents, a night to remember at the Glamorous Caribbean Ball, Northampton, and it was indeed glamorous with over 400 people in attendance who looked very dapper indeed in their various attire.
The National Caribbean Monument Charity(TNCMC) was the 1st, and only speaker, on the programme, and to my pleasant suprise there were many Service Personnel, current and Veterans, in the audience. There was the usual cheer and bantar, of course, as I mentioned the name of each Armed force, but it was even more unexpected to meet a Veteran from the Merchant Navy in attendance also. WOW!
Veterans representing each crest on the TNCMC Standard: Center: Royal Navy(Submarina) & Army representing top crests. Left and right: Royal Air Force & Merchant Navy, representing bottom crests.
History was in the making for TNCMC because for the first, as per photo above, we had a representative for each crest in the corners of our Standard. Crests positioned as follow: Top left: Royal Navy, Top right: Army, Bottom left: Royal Air Force and Bottom right: Merchant Navy.
This picture repeats the above Organisations but this time with the Queen of us all, representing her late husband, a Veteran of WW2.
Veterans in the photo above totalled: 1 Royal Navy, 2 Army, 3 Royal Air Force and 1 Merchant Navy. What a night!!!
This was a very successful event and long may it continue. It was my first attendance in its 27 years existance and I certainly intend to support it in the future. Many, many thanks to the Organisers for allowing TNCMC to speak on behalf of the aims and objectives of the charity, which, judging by the response from the audience, it was very well received.
